Urban communities around the country and here in Milwaukee are struggling to provide high quality educational opportunities to their citizens. Our speaker for this month is Andrew E Stith, Founding President of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Milwaukee, the latest in a growing number of private schools seeking to fill the educational opportunity gap in Milwaukee.
Cristo Rey in Milwaukee is part of a nationwide network of 30 Catholic, college preparatory high schools for students from limited financial means. All Cristo Rey schools share a unique and innovative model which empowers students to pursue higher education through a rigorous curriculum and provides invaluable professional work experience through their Corporate Work Study Program. An amazing 100% of Cristo Rey students get accepted into college.
The Corporate Work Study Program is an innovative means of providing students with crucial hands-on, professional work experience. As a result of working in a business environment, students create positive relationships in the business and professional communities, build their resources, acquire valuable job experience and marketable skills, develop a network of business contacts, gain exposure to a wide range of career opportunities, inculcate a strong work ethic, and increase self-esteem. It’s no wonder why an astounding 100% of Cristo Rey students get accepted into college.
Please join us on Tuesday May 24th at 5pm Wisconsin Club to hear more about Cristo Rey High School in Milwaukee.
